The petrol fueled variant of Volvo V40 has been launched in the country at the sticker price of Rs. 27 lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai) badge as Volvo V40 T4. The petrol variant is the most affordable vehicle for Volvo in India, the Swedish car maker launched the diesel variant of V40 cross country in 2013 for Rs. 32 lakh (ex-showroom).

The South Korean car maker, Hyundai has launched the refreshed version of executive sedan Elantra in India at the introductory price of Rs. 14.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Elantra was first introduced in 2004 and received major update in 2013. Current Gen Hyundai Elantra is known for its executive and long list of features and new Elantra also gets some new sophisticated features. The 2015 variant is just an upgraded variant while new GEN Elantra is expected to arrive in 2016.

NGT Bans over 10 year old Diesel Vehicles in Delhi
Sighting the rising pollution, National Green tribunal has issued a ban over all the diesel vehicles over 10 years old in Delhi and adjoining states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. In November 2014 the tribunal has issued a similar kind of order in which NGT banned all the diesel vehicles over 15 years old but the states failed to stick on it, so plan was scrapped.

One of the hottest and fastest selling sedan in India, ‘Honda city’ gets a new trim called as VX (O) priced at Rs. 10.64 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for petrol and Rs. 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for Diesel variant. New variants will be positioned above the VX and become the new top variant in the product’s line-up.
Renault XBA hatchback to be called Kayou, Official unveil on 20th May 2015
Renault India has just launched the Lodgy MPV and now the French car maker will unveil its entry level hatchback codenamed XBA on 20th May 2015. Renault Duster has been the sole successor in India while its other cars like Scala and Pulse have not managed to generate high Volumes. The luxury offerings like Koleos and Fluence are complete letdown for the French car maker. XBA hatchback is expected to be launched soon after its global unveil on 20th May.

Mercedes-Benz Posts 40% growth in Q1 sales in India beats Audi by 385 units
Mercedes Benz ticked its best ever quarter sales in India, the brand has registered its highest sales figures till date inspired by ‘Live the best philosophy’. The carmaker has sold 3566 units from January to March this year which is about 40% more as compared to same period in last year’s 2554 units. Apart from quarter sale, company’s sale for the financial year 2014-15 sees 17.5 percent growth with 11,213 units.
India’s First Home-Grown Supercar DC Avanti to Launch on 15 April 2015
DC Avanti will be making its official launch on 15 April 2015 finally and will be made to order. DC, the automotive design firm will produce only 500 units in its first batch that already has been booked at the price around Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom). DC Avanti was first showcased at 2012 auto expo and then at 2014 Auto expo production version of Avanti was unveiled.

Datsun Go to become Safer; will come with Driver Side Airbag Soon
Datsun Go which was launched in the country last year was more in the news for its failure in NCAP crash test than its budget price range. Datsun Go scored zero points in for adult passenger protection while scored two stars in child occupant protection segment. Maruti Suzuki India Recalls More than 33,000 Units of Alto Series
India’s largest car manufacture Maruti Suzuki issued a voluntary recall of 33,098 units of Alto series that includes 19,780 units of Alto 800 and 13,318 units of Alto K10 manufactured between 8th December 2014 and 18th February 2015.
The problem area due to which recall took place is said to the right hand side door of both front and rear side which is partially latched, the door may open if pressure is applied from inside it can raise safety concerns.
